Young Scholars Program
GVPT289M: Trial Advocacy

The University of Maryland Mock Trial is working with the Young Scholars Program to offer a summer course on Trial Advocacy to high school students. The three week course will provide students an opportunity to enrich their understanding of trial techniques, enhance their public speaking skills and earn 3 college credits.

Dates:

The program runs from July 8th - July 27. The Mock Trial course (Trial Advocacy course) meets M-F 10 am - 12 pm. There will be a special in-class “trial” on the final day of classes that parents are invited to attend.


Who is qualified to participate?

  • At least a current high school sophomore or higher
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA (A copy of a transcript must be sent)
  • Recommendation Letter required
